The second-generation HSD: a compact utility bike with an 80 kg rack and a stronger motor.

The Tern HSD P10 fixes the main weakness of the first HSD: it has a 75 Nm motor and a 545 Wh battery, and its rear rack takes 80 kg. It stays small and light enough to live in a flat, but it carries one child, not two.
AllCargo estimate: 80 kg rider, 40 kg cargo, rolling terrain, tour mode.

The Tern HSD P10 is for city riders who want one bike for commuting, shopping and one child, and who need to store it indoors. It is about the length of a normal bike, the stem folds and it stands upright on its rear rack, so it fits in lifts and hallways. The rear rack is rated for 80 kg and the bike for 180 kg in total.
The Bosch Performance Line motor with 75 Nm is a clear step up from the first-generation HSD and copes with hills with a child on board. Tern quotes 51 to 121 km with the 545 Wh battery; with a load, plan on around 45 km. At 27.6 kg the bike handles like a normal e-bike, the 20-inch wheels keep the load low, and a suspension fork and hydraulic disc brakes add comfort and control. The 10-speed derailleur is simple to service.
Tern does not publish overall dimensions for the unfolded bike, so measure your storage space against a normal city bike. Child seats, rails and bags are sold separately. For two children, the larger Tern GSD is the right choice.
A stronger 75 Nm Bosch motor, a 545 Wh battery and a rear rack rated for 80 kg, within a 180 kg total limit. The compact size and upright storage remain.
Yes, one child on the rear rack with a suitable seat or Tern's Clubhouse rails, within the 80 kg rack rating.
Tern quotes 51 to 121 km with the 545 Wh battery. With a child on board and mixed terrain, around 45 km is realistic.
The Tern HSD P10 is designed for one child.
With its 545 Wh battery we estimate about 45 km per charge with an 80 kg rider and 40 kg of cargo on rolling terrain. Use the range calculator above for your own scenario.
The bike weighs about 27.6 kg and has a maximum permitted total weight (rider, cargo and bike) of 180 kg.
Prices start at €4,300. The final price depends on configuration, battery size and accessories.
