Our verdict

The Ca Go CS200 is the top version of the CS: three racks for up to 80 kg in total, a Cargo Line motor, belt drive and a rear rack approved for a child seat. It is heavy for its size at about 46 kg, and the 180 kg total limit leaves less reserve than a full cargo bike.

Pros

  • Three load zones for up to 80 kg
  • Belt drive and stepless hub
  • Rear rack approved for a child seat
  • Strong 85 Nm motor pulls full loads up steep hills
  • Low-maintenance belt drive — no chain oil on clothes
  • Hub gears shift at a standstill, handy at traffic lights

Cons

  • Heavy for its size at about 46 kg
  • 180 kg total limit
  • Room for one child only
  • Heavy at 45.6 kg — hard to carry or lift over steps

Ideal for…

  • City riders with shopping, bags and one child
  • Limited parking space
  • Families carrying two or three kids
  • Riding with a dog
  • Hilly cities

Not recommended if…

  • Two children
  • Carrying the bike up stairs
  • You must carry it up stairs or into a cellar
  • You need to carry more than one child

Who it is for

The Ca Go CS200 is for city riders who want to carry a lot on a bike about 2.04 m long, without a front box. The load is spread over three zones: 18 kg on the front rack, 35 kg on the low centre rack between the wheels and 27 kg on the rear rack. The MIK HD rear rack is approved for one child seat, and the bike is rated for 180 kg in total.

Riding and everyday use

The Bosch Cargo Line motor with 85 Nm has plenty of power for a bike of this size, even fully loaded. The stepless hub with belt drive shifts at a standstill and needs very little maintenance. Small 20-inch wheels and the low centre rack keep the weight close to the ground, a suspension fork adds comfort, and Magura MT5 four-piston brakes stop firmly. With the 545 Wh battery, expect around 40 km with a load.

Before you buy

At about 46 kg the CS200 is heavy for a compact bike, so it is not one to carry up steps. Check that rider, child and luggage stay under 180 kg. If you do not need the rear rack or belt, the CS100 and CS150 cost less.
