Who it is for

The Loden One is for city riders who want to carry more than a normal e-bike allows without the size of a cargo bike. It is 1.73 m long, like a normal bike, thanks to a small 20-inch front wheel under a large front rack and a 26-inch rear wheel. Each rack takes 25 kg, with 35 kg of luggage in total. A child seat can be fitted on the rear rack within its load limit.

Riding and everyday use

The front rack is fixed to the frame, so the load does not turn with the handlebar and the steering stays light. The Shimano STEPS E6100 motor with 60 Nm is quiet and has enough power for city hills with a moderate load. Loden quotes up to 170 km with the 504 Wh battery in ideal conditions; with a load, around 40 km is realistic. The 5-speed hub with belt drive shifts at a standstill and needs almost no care.

Before you buy

There is no suspension, so comfort depends on the tyres. Sources differ on the permitted total weight (135 or 162 kg), so ask the dealer for the figure on the frame label, especially if you are a heavier rider. Baskets, boxes and a child seat are accessories and cost extra.
