Our verdict

The Ca Go CS150 adds a stepless hub gear and a 725 Wh battery to the compact CS frame, which makes it the long-range version of the family. Like the CS100 it comes without the rear rack, so it suits shopping and gear rather than carrying a child.

Pros

  • Large 725 Wh battery for long days
  • Stepless hub gear, shift at a standstill
  • Strong 85 Nm Cargo Line motor and four-piston brakes
  • Strong 85 Nm motor pulls full loads up steep hills
  • Hub gears shift at a standstill, handy at traffic lights

Cons

  • No rear rack as standard
  • Chain instead of the CS200's belt
  • 180 kg total limit

Ideal for…

  • Shopping, commuting and carrying gear in the city
  • Limited parking space
  • Families carrying two or three kids
  • Riding with a dog
  • Hilly cities

Not recommended if…

  • Carrying children as delivered
  • Riders who want a belt drive

Who it is for

The Ca Go CS150 is for city riders who want to carry shopping, bags or work gear on a bike about 2.04 m long, without a front box. It comes with two load zones: a front rack for 18 kg and a low centre rack between the wheels for 35 kg. Ca Go rates the CS for up to 80 kg with all three racks; the rear rack for 27 kg is standard only on the CS200. The bike is rated for 180 kg in total.

Riding and everyday use

The Bosch Cargo Line motor with 85 Nm is generous for a bike of this size and pulls easily with a full load. The stepless hub gear shifts at a standstill and needs less care than the derailleur of the CS100; unlike the CS200 it is driven by a chain, not a belt. Small 20-inch wheels and the low centre rack keep the weight close to the ground, a suspension fork adds comfort and Magura MT5 four-piston brakes stop firmly. With the 725 Wh battery, expect around 55 km with a load, the longest range in the CS family.

Before you buy

Without a rear rack there is no place for a child seat, so check whether a rear rack can be added if you need one, or choose the CS200. Make sure rider and luggage stay under 180 kg.
