The Orox S12 is a longtail built for rough ground: big 29-inch wheels, a CX motor and an 800 Wh battery for long days. For pure city use it is larger and wider than it needs to be.
AllCargo estimate: 80 kg rider, 40 kg cargo, rolling terrain, tour mode.

The Tern Orox S12 is for riders who want to carry kids, camping gear or tools beyond the tarmac. It rolls on 29-inch tyres, the rear rack takes 100 kg and the bike is rated for 210 kg on the road and 180 kg off-road. Two children fit on the back with suitable seats.
The Bosch Performance Line CX with 85 Nm and the 12-speed Shimano Deore drivetrain give a wide gear range for steep, loose climbs. The 800 Wh battery is one of the largest in the class, so around 60 km with a load is realistic, and more with a second battery. At 34.4 kg it is reasonably light for its size, and Magura MT5 brakes keep it under control on descents.
The Orox is 2.14 m long and 82 cm wide at the handlebar, so it needs a ground-level parking spot and will not fit through narrow bike barriers easily. If you ride mostly in town, the shorter Tern GSD is more practical.
Yes, two children on the rear rack with suitable seats. The rack is rated for 100 kg and the bike for 210 kg on the road, including the rider.
Yes, that is what it is built for. Tern allows 180 kg total weight off-road, and the 29-inch tyres, suspension fork and CX motor handle gravel and forest tracks.
With the 800 Wh battery, around 60 km with a load on mixed terrain is realistic. A second battery can roughly double that for long trips.
The Tern Orox S12 can carry up to 2 children, depending on the seats and accessories fitted.
With its 800 Wh battery we estimate about 64 km per charge with an 80 kg rider and 40 kg of cargo on rolling terrain. Use the range calculator above for your own scenario.
The bike weighs about 34.4 kg and has a maximum permitted total weight (rider, cargo and bike) of 210 kg.
Prices start at €6,100. The final price depends on configuration, battery size and accessories.
