The Shimano EP6 mid-motor with 85 Nm has plenty of power for a bike this size, even on hills with a full platform. The 504 Wh battery gives around 40 km with a load. The 5-speed hub shifts at a standstill; this version uses a chain, which is cheaper than the belt version but needs regular cleaning and oil. Magura four-piston brakes are strong for a bike of this weight.

The small wheels and rigid steel fork pass on more bumps than a large front-loader with suspension. The Family Carrier is compact, so check the space with your own children, and ask the dealer for the permitted total weight including the rider.
