The Babboe Curve Mountain is for families who want maximum stability: as a trike it stands by itself at traffic lights and while children climb in. The curved wooden box carries up to 100 kg, with two children on the standard bench and up to four with an extra bench. The Yamaha mid-drive motor makes it the Curve version for hilly areas.
Trikes steer differently from bikes: you turn the whole box, and on cambered roads the bike pulls to one side, so take a few quiet practice rides. The Yamaha PW-C with 70 Nm moves the 58 kg trike plus load well, and the 8-speed hub gear is low-maintenance. Drum brakes are robust but not very strong. With 500 Wh, expect around 35 km with children on board.
At 88 cm wide, the Curve does not fit through a standard 80 cm door and needs a wide bike path or a garage. In 2024 Babboe ran a recall and inspection programme for several models, including the Curve; for a used trike, ask for proof of inspection.
Easier at low speed and when stopping, because it stands by itself. At higher speed and on cambered roads a trike needs getting used to, as it leans differently from a bike.
No, not a standard one. At 88 cm wide it needs a garage door, a shed or a wide gate. Measure your storage before buying.
In 2024 Babboe started a recall and inspection programme for several models, including the Curve. For a used trike, ask for proof that the frame was checked or repaired.
The Babboe Curve Mountain can carry up to 4 children, depending on the seats and accessories fitted.
With its 500 Wh battery we estimate about 36 km per charge with an 80 kg rider and 40 kg of cargo on rolling terrain. Use the range calculator above for your own scenario.
The bike weighs about 58 kg and has a maximum permitted total weight (rider, cargo and bike) of 180 kg.
Prices start at €4,500. The final price depends on configuration, battery size and accessories.
